Style Tips for Wearing Women’s High-Waisted Pants According to Your Morphology
Women’s high-waisted pants are a versatile and flattering piece, but it’s important to choose styles that enhance your unique body shape. Here are three style tips to make the most of this trend based on your body shape.
If you don’t yet know your body shape, we invite you to take our ‘body shape test’; it’s here and will only take a few minutes of your time: Go to the Test
Hourglass figure: If you have an hourglass silhouette with shoulders and hips of almost the same width and a pronounced waist, go for high-waisted, fitted trousers that show off your curves. Opt for styles that flare slightly at the ankles to create a harmonious balance. Pair them with slim-fitting tops to emphasise your waist. Belts can also be your best friend, as they will accentuate your thin waist.
A (Triangle) silhouette: If your hips are wider than your shoulders, choose high-waisted pants with straight or slightly flared legs. This will balance out your silhouette by creating a more uniform visual line. Opt for bold colours and patterns on the top to draw attention to your upper body. A slim belt can help create the illusion of a higher, slimmer waist.
V shape (Inverted Pyramid): If your shoulders are wider than your hips, opt for high-waisted trousers with elegant details at the hips, such as side pockets cut on the bias (known as “Italian” pockets) or pleats. This will draw attention downwards and visually balance your silhouette. Opt for slightly baggy or palazzo trousers to create a fluid effect around the hips and thighs. Bright colours and patterns on the bottoms combined with simpler tops will help to create harmony.
The key is to find cuts and styles that make you feel comfortable and confident. Experiment with different options and styles to find out what works best for your body type and personal style!
